Gwen Stefani was the belle of the ball at amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS gala at Cannes last week in a black evening gown she said was from her L.A.M.B. label.

But the dress, which had been worn for a L'Oreal shoot earlier that day, and was auctioned later that evening for charity, has sparked a row after designer Michael Angel today claimed it as a creation of his own.

According to New York magazine the dress was designed by Mr Angel, and not the singer - but L'Oreal simply billed him as a 'stylist'.

And according to RadarOnline, a source close to the designer claims that he is 'upset' over the miscredit because 'he designed the dress specifically for Gwen.'

While the gown does not appear in either of the designers' collections, there is a similar design in Ms Stefani's offering for autumn/winter 2011.

But some eagle-eyed fashionistas believe that the lace around the neckline is from Mr Angel's autumn/winter 2010 collection.

Regardless of its designer, Ms Stefani's gown raised an impressive $125,000 for charity. The star took to the stage with actor Jude Law in an effort to boost the bidding.Other items at the auction, which raised a total of $10million, included a tennis match with Monaco's Prince Albert and prints from Karl Lagerfeld's fashion photography collection.

There was also a $200,000 pair of diamond and rubellite shoes designed by Giuseppe Zanotti and Chopard.

They were worn by supermodel Anja Rubik and auctioned by Eva Herzigova.

Fellow guests at the strictly A-list event included Kanye West, Jane Fonda and Uma Thurman.

Soaking up some serious rays, Gwen Stefani was spotted aboard a Luna mega-yacht in Cannes, France earlier today (May 23).

The 41-year-old singer, who was joined in her boating fun by her family, showed off her fine form in a teeny black and white polka dot bikini.

There's no doubt Gwen has an amazing body, but the mom of two told Elle Canada that staying in shape isn't always as easy as it looks, revealing, "It's a daily struggle."

Stefani added, "I work out five days a week, and I can't imagine not doing it. I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want but I've learned over the years that I'm so disappointed when I can't wear the clothes I want to. And if I let myself down and go onstage when I'm not looking my best, it's not fun for me – I just beat myself up about it."

With the red carpet awash with floor-length designer gowns straight off the catwalks, necks laden with diamonds, it's hard to stand out from the crowd at Cannes.

But Gwen Stefani broke the mould in her sequinned jumpsuit at the Cannes Film Festival tonight, bringing her Hollywood sensibilities to one of the world's most glamorous events.

The belted jumpsuit by Stella McCartney featured a daring plunging neckline and layers of lace over a black lining.

Gwen teamed her modern take on the Seventies look with bright pink lipstick, her hair curled and pinned back.

Her husband, Bush singer, Gavin Rossdale, 45, looked equally dashing in a black on black suit and tie, with satin lapel.

The pair have been enjoying the spring sun in Europe with an extended holiday.

First they spent time at their home in Primrose Hill in London, during which they were seen taking their sons Kingston, who's five next week, and two-year-old Zuma to visit Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.

Now they are the guests of Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich, on his £115million superyacht Luna.

Moored just off Antibes near Cannes, and not far from Abramovich's home, the ocean-going mansion has two helipads, bullet-proof windows, each bedroom has its own cinemas sized TV and there's an onboard covered swimming pool.

Any whim of Miss Stefani's could also be catered for by any number of the crew of 40, who include butlers and chefs specialising in macrobiotic food.

Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Zuma, 2, and almost 5-year-old Kingston, have been enjoying their vacation in the South of France.

Earlier on Sunday (May 15), the No Doubt singer and her boys were seen at the Eden Roc hotel in Cannes. The kids were dressed casually with Zuma walking around with no pants!

Gwen's fashion sense is fitting for the Riviera sun. She wore a pretty long dress with shades at the hotel and then later changed into a bikini top with a matching flowing skirt when they were on a luxury boat in Antibes.

The boys also changed into swim shorts and life vests.

Pop star Gwen Stefani swapped high notes for the high seas yesterday as enjoyed a luxury getaway in the South of France.

The 41-year-old and her family were spotted taking a motorboat to board the 'sea mansion' of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich yesterday.

The No Doubt singer was accompanied by her husband Gavin Rossdale, 45, and their two children Kingston, who turns five later this month, and Zuma, two.

The foursome looked relaxed and happy as they took the short trip to board the super-yacht named Luna.

Gwen and Gavin chatted animatedly as their two boys enjoyed the boat ride and were on their best behaviour looking out onto the ocean.

The Don't Speak songstress and fashion designer of her own label L.A.M.B. took photos of her family on her iPhone to save memories of the special occasion.

The 115m Luna yacht is the world's largest expedition motor yacht. It features two helipads, a covered swimming pool and sunbathing areas.

Abramovich was ranked number 15 in Forbes 2008 rich list and has a current estimated worth of $11.2billion.

Gwen has just been named as a new face for L'Oreal Paris and the couple have recently been unveiled as one of the world's Top 20 hottest couples by website Zimbio.

The family were enjoying an extended stay in London at their home in Primrose Hill before their jaunt to Cannes.

They have been spending their time catching up with friends in Gavin's hometown.

The pair have become a regular fixture in the affluent area of north London and have been spotted shopping and enjoying the local cafes and pubs.

They've been in the capital since last weekend and have also been out and about with their celebrity friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.

The Rossdales even got their kids together for some play dates and Gwen and Gwyneth enjoyed a girls' night out together and dined at a Japanese restaurant together on Tuesday night.
